"In Gratitude to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. . ."
Theme & Purpose: "Gratitude is the hallmark of a human being" declares Bhagawan Baba. Once the Lord graciously entered our lives, making this life journey joyous and filled with spiritual growth. As we move on, following His directives, the grace and love with which our Lord guides and carries us is humbling. As HIS children we realize that if we can make a genuine effort in understanding and living His message to best of our capacity that could be a worthy offering at His Lotus Feet. This Convention is a humble attempt in that direction.
82 years have passed since the Avatar of the age; Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba started walking this earth. Alas, still major portion of the human population is still unaware of the arrival of the Lord. Many are still unexposed to the immense contributions and remarkable life-transforming activities HE has been performing over the past eight decades. Many of those who are aware and experience Him do not completely comprehend the magnitude of HIS work.
Bhagawan started with "My life is My message" and led us to "Your life is My message". What a huge responsibility. To become His message we need to remind ourselves of our good fortune of "knowing" and "experiencing" GOD thus becoming contemporaries of the Avatar. It is funny that we can convince ourselves for the need of brushing every day, or eating a good diet, going to work etc., somehow it is so tough to believe in GOD. Sad still is that we need motivation and justification to follow the "Word of GOD".
Through this convention "in gratitude to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba" we attempt to create a `refresher course' reminding ourselves of the various messages of our Lord; different activities catering to the Body, Mind and Soul; and dwell on the purpose, significance and the method of doing such activities. We would also walk down the memory lane to know/understand as to how Bhagawan started an event highlighting the reason and the intent behind. We will do a self assessment to find out where we are and what we need to do to become worthy offering at the Lotus Feet of our Lord.
The first in a series of conventions to impact the United States is planned as below. It is our prayer to Bhagawan that HE inspires us, HIS students, HIS property to participate in large numbers as active participants to carry and deliver HIS message. We request every one of us in North America to revert and confirm their availability for this event. As we need to work out the program details and also decide on the logistic of work distribution it is important that we hear from "all of you" at the earliest.
This is first ever event conducted by the Alumni in N. America in large scale. Every little support is welcome and desired.
